That this House commends the achievements of Fidel Castro in securing first-class free healthcare and education provision for the people of Cuba despite the 44 year illegal US embargo of the Cuban economy; notes the great strides Cuba has taken during this period in many fields such as biotechnology and sport in both of which Cuba is a world leader; acknowledges the esteem in which Castro is held by the people and leaders of Africa, Asia and Latin America for leading the calls for emancipation of the world's poorest people from slavery, hunger and the denial of human rights such as the right to life, the right to shelter, the right to healthcare and basic medicines and the right to education; welcomes the EU statement that constructive engagement with Cuba at this time is the most responsible course of action; and calls upon the Government to respect Cuba's right to self-determination and resist the aggressive forces within the US Administration who are openly planning their own illegal transition in Cuba.

Oh dear, not his finest moment.

Still this MP did have this to say on the oppression of the people of Eastern Europe:

The 50 years of communism was drab, uniform and mean. But everyone shared the misery equality which gave them a measure of contentment. The collapse of communism divided society into the new millionaire entrepreneurs and the bulk of the population whose income fell behind inflation. Inequality fostered unhappiness.

Not a mention of the gulags, the censoring of news, no freedom of speech, no free press or indeed freedom in any way unless approved of by the ruling party.

Some bits on Paul Flynn

My local MP the Rt Hon. Paul Flynn MP, is an expenses fiddler who claimed £10,000 pounds in legal defense costs off the taxpayer for a libel case he lost, a libel case he could have avoided in the first place.

He has stolen on expenses a cool £7,052 for new kitchen, as well as work back in 2006 on his kitchen coming to £1580. He has also stolen from the taxpayers £1,153 on carpets and £1,200 decoration for his London property in 2005. A property later sold, sadly the taxpayers did not get their money returned to them.

He also claimed £9,629 in stamp duty and fees, yet more money off of you and me.

Then we have £1000 deposit on kitchen equipment, and back in 2006 he charged the taxpayers £1201.90 on decorating his humble abode.

Plus he has claimed back mortgage interest as well, nice work if you can get it.

He also doesn't like paying his bills, he gets you to pay them instead: water, electricity, council Tax and even his television license all paid for by you.

Other perks include: £1745 on a sofa and a chair. £189 on a bathroom cabinet.

One ravel small sofa bed beige, costing £750 quid and a vanilla pluto chair costing £995 quid.

Then we have one tv table £150, one side table £90, a dining table & four chairs both £150 quid.

One leather look manager chair coming to £64.98. Oh and £424 on a bed.

Worst of all was this smug self congratulating vomit inducing statement from this odious MP:
The published figures demonstrate my modest claims and reassert the accolade given to me by the Daily Telegraph as an 'Expenses Angel.'

Moving on, he also doesn't like farmers very much.

Paul Flynn has also "flipped" his home as this spreadsheet

shows. Flipping a home does not imply wrongdoing, but often the MP's use the power to bill the taxpayer for furnishing more than one property.

Newport deserves better than Paul Flynn.

The missing libel apology

Recently Paul Flynn was involved in a libel case where he made comments about an endowment pensions company, the result of which he had to pay out damages.

The apology has since "vanished" from his website and has been taken down mysteriously from his Wikipedia page on several occasions.

And so here is his apology on a site that Flynn can not remove it from. Sadly despite losing his case he has not chosen to repay the hard working taxpayers the 10 grand of their money he used in defending his case.

He was sued after he posted an attack on such companies on his website, claiming they were out to "re-rob" the victims of endowment mis-selling by dishonestly over-charging them for their services.

But he made the mistake of referring to well-regarded company Endowment Justice Ltd, which represents mis-selling victims on a "no-win, no-fee" basis.

The company and its directors sued and at London's High Court Mr Flynn made a public apology for the "unjustified attack" on the claimants' integrity.

The MP as part of the settlement put the following statement on his website: On this website in February this year, I made certain statements referring to Endowment Justice Limited, one of the companies which offers assistance in obtaining compensation for those people who were mis-sold endowment policies.

I have been campaigning against companies providing professional services in relation to endowment policy compensation claims, but my facts about Endowment Justice were incorrect.

As a result, I wrongly accused the company and its directors Nick Keca, Marianne Fitzjohn and Graeme Webber of having previously mis-sold endowment policies and now dishonestly overcharging those self-same victims to help them obtain compensation.

I am happy to clarify that neither Endowment Justice Ltd or any of its directors were ever involved in any aspect of endowment policy selling. It was therefore false and unfair to suggest that they had profited from the historic mis-selling of endowment policies.

I was also incorrect in stating that Endowment Justice, which offers its services in recovering compensation on a “no-win, no-fee” basis, could charge its customers up to 40% of any compensation gained. Endowment Justice in fact charge customers 17.5% plus VAT or 22.5% plus VAT of any compensation gained.

I was wrong to give the unintended impression that the company or its directors acts in any way improperly or unlawfully in providing services to those seeking compensation for endowment policy mis-selling.

I would like to apologise to Endowment Justice for my allegations, and to Mr. Keca, Ms. Fitzjohn and Mr. Webber for any embarrassment or distress caused by my false remarks.

Gordonomics the true cost

Gordonomics is the economic theory behind New Labour, that has resulted in an over complicated tax structure that costs billions to administer.

A system that pours money taken in taxes from the private sector to fund a bloated public sector that produces not a penny.

A system that has left us the last G7 nation still in recession. Led by a mono eye'd pill popping, Nokia throwing, staff bullying, nose picking former PM who has broken his own golden rules on borrowing, leading to a national debt rising at over £6000 pounds a second.

Using government figures we all owe £1.1 trillion by as of 2010. As of March 2009 the debt was £796 billions or 55.5% of our gross domestic product.

Thanks to Gordonomics we all owe £13,678 and rising. The interest on Gordon's spending will cost us over £42 billion a year, and to pay for it all the only plan Gordon and the socialists had was more tax rises.

If a company ran its books in that manner it would either remove the chairman and put matters right, or be closed down due to going broke.

Gordon the man who had the plan of clearing the UK's overdraft by sticking all on the nations credit card, an any day now the shaven headed bailiffs will knocking on the nations door; all thanks to this window licking hoon.

Even the head of the US Federal Reserve, Ben Bernanke said that the UK was ill-prepared to deal with the crisis in the wake of decisions made by Mr Brown when he was chancellor.
